Alignment has never been easier than with the Celestron CG-5’s latitude scale and optional polar finderscope. The Advanced series utilizes many of the features available in the top of the range ‘GoTo’ Celestron telescopes.

All Celestron telescopes in this series are upgradeable to GPS offering exact details of your positioning and further reducing the time required for the alignment process and come with "The Sky" Level 1 planetarium software, new software features plus a 40,000+ object database.

Celestron’s StarBright XLT optical coating (available with the C6-SGT, C8-SGT, C91/4-SGT and C11-SGT telescopes), is a revolutionary optical coating which includes unique enhanced multi-layer mirror coatings, multi-layer anti-reflective coatings and high transmission water white glass to deliver one of the finest optical coatings available.

Choose between Refractor, Reflector, Maksutov and Schmidt-Cassegrain Celestron telescopes:

· Refractor are good for terrestrial viewing and excellent for lunar, planetary and binary star observing

· Newtonian reflector are more compact and excellent for faint deep sky objects such as remote galaxies, nebulae and star clusters

· Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes are the best all-purpose telescope design, compact and portable, virtually maintenance free with excellent optics and razor sharp images over a wide field of view, good for lunar, planetary and binary star observing and excellent for photography and terrestrial viewing

· Maksutov-Cassegrain telescopes have most of the advantages of the Schmidt plus they are less expensive, with longer focal lengths (which offer higher magnifications) and they enable you to see planets in slightly greater detail with improved contrast. However, the field of view is smaller and the telescopes are slightly heavier.
